It was a very educative session during this week’s episode of the Knorr Taste Quest as the judges of the show, Executive chef, Dr Roberts and Sou chef, Chef Fregz decided to train and guide the ten remaining contestants into preparing better dishes.
The objective was also to educate the contestants on how to use basic everyday ingredients. This episode was probably a relief to the contestants as it can be recalled that last week, two contestants; Damilola and Aaron were put on probation, and it seemed there was going to be an eviction in this episode.
To bring the training closer to the show, the judges used most of the major ingredients that were given to the contestants as in their previous tasks. They proceeded to train on preparing, portioning and plating food in a professional and appealing way. Techniques addressed during the training session were knife skills, prepping, seasoning and an emphasis was placed on always planning and thinking before starting out the tasks. It should be noted that contestants for the show do not necessarily have to be professional chefs, rather people who enjoy cooking.
At the end of this impressive episode, it was obvious the contestants learned a lot. Every week on Knorr Taste Quest, the contestants pit their culinary skills against one another to discover who will become Nigeria’s best. For this week all the contestants are safe, but Dr Roberts assured them someone would be dropping their knives during the next episode.
Don't forget, prizes worth N10,000 are being won by 20 lucky viewers every week.
