The Syrian government carried out chemical weapons attack in Damascus in the early hours of August 21, killing at least 1,400 people as they slept in their homes. "We cannot and will not turn a blind eye to what happened in Damascus. What message are we sending out if a dictator can gas hundreds of children to death in plain sight without paying a price" Obama saidOnce the US congress reconvenes on September 9th, president Obama will have his answer.
